HP Pavilion dm3 review

The H.P.DM3 is the good looking laptop from the renowned manufacturer. It is compact and has high end features and designed stunningly. The battery life of this laptop is satisfactory giving 4h 30min of run time on light to moderate usage. The DM3 runs for nearly 2 hours on heavy usage(too bad!).HP will have to consider the
below average battery life of the Pavilion DM3.It comes with Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System.Weighing 1.9 kg this notebook is this a ultra slim netbook.
The 13.3 inch laptop looks glossy and pretty small like a modem. The silver aluminium finish is eye-catching. The HP DM3 is highly portable and the refined brushed aluminium body provides rich look. The H.P. Pavilion DM3 measures 1.2 x 12.8 x 9.1 inches. The 13.3 LED backlight vibrant display sports a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels like the other notebooks in the 13” category.
The chiclet keyboard is outstanding. It is spacious enough. It is easy to type on the Pavilion dm3’s keyboard unlike some other keyboards which are hard to type on!The VGA webcam is placed just above the widescreen. The 0.3 MP camera takes some neat images. It performed well even in bad light to my surprise! The smooth touch touchpad worked well and the two buttons are present at the top of the touchpad. The touchpad has some minor flaws which can sometimes be really frustrating.
The HP Pavilion dm3 has healthy number ports.Around the netbook are the standard ports:four USBs,Ethernet jack,MicroSD card reader, mic and headphone jacks and one HDMI port. The left side offers two USB ports, power and Ethernet jack,VGA and HDMI,headphone and microphone jacks and a microSD slot. The right side of the Pavilion dm3 holds a power switch,a wireless switch and the other two USB ports.Unfortunately the dm3 doesn’t feature an optical drive.
2 GB RAM and 320 GB HardDisk capacity.

Apple iPad review-II

Battery life:
This is were Apple iPad stands out from the rest of the crowd. The battery life was very impressive. The iPad has 25 watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery.Apple promised a battery life of upto 10 hours and infact the ipad was able to last a bit longer with normal day-to-day usage like listening to music, using applications, occasionally watching videos, surfing the net, checking e-mails and performing other tasks. The run time
on the iPad was much better than the iPhon and other netbooks which give 4-6 hrs of battery life. Moreover, the instant-on feature turns on or turns off the iPad instantly. The ipad lasted for nearly 10h 30 min on a single charge.
e-books reading:
Apple started the iBooks application with the launch of iPad.iBooks is an e-book reader similar to Kindle which allows you to read electronic books. There are about 60 thousand books for the iBooks app which be increased.Reading books on the iPad is a good experience especially in the widescreen mode which lets you read as two facing pages(like a real book). The iPad is also very fast compared to other e-Readers.
Box content:ipad,Documentation,10W USB Power Adapter and Dock Connector.
Other specs:
Built-in speakers

1GHz Apple A4 processor
Capacity-16GB or 32GB or 64GB

Conclusion:
The iPad is a great gadget for entertainment lovers specially because of it’s applications. It is a perfect bet for those who use their PCs for surfing the web, checking e-mails and Social Networking. As of now,the ipad cannot replace a laptop because of the lack of multi-tasking capabilities. If you are that kind of person who uses his laptop for work purposes rather than entertainment then this gadget is not for you.If Apple can add the multi-tasking feature then the iPad will be seen even in the hand of professionals!

Apple iPad review-I

Apple has released the much anticipated iPad after many speculations recently. The Apple iPad is the world’s first Tablet PC.Many say that the Apple iPad is just an extra-sized iphone.Inspite of all the critics the ipads are getting good response from the Americans.Apple says that the iPad is a ‘magical device’.Like every other gadget, the ipad also has Pros and Cons, read on to find out more:
Design:
The design of the iPad is simply awesome!Apple’s products are known for their design and the same applies to the iPad as well. This portable gadget from apple is very slim measuring just 0.5(13 mm) thick. The iPad weighs just 1.5 pounds(0.68 kg) and the 3G model weighs 1.6 pounds and measures 242.8 mm high by 189.7 mm wide by 13.4 mm thick(9.56 x 4.747 x 0.5 inches).
The iPad is embedded with the home button below the display just like the iphone. The iPad has just 4 external keys-the home button below the screen, the power key(on/off) key on the top,the dual volume keys are present on the side and the lock button is also present on the side. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is present at the top near the power key and the Apple Dock connector is present at the bottom. The iPad’s design is similar to that of the iphone. The backside of the ipad has aluminum covering which makes it look better than the iphone’s back.
Display:
The iPad comes with a 9.7” LED display. The screen is wide enough for surfing the web, playing games and running some applications. Those who had used the iphone would definitely like the ipad because of the significantly larger screen. The multi-touch backlit display is glossy. The screen sports a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels and the screen comes with IPS technology and is fingerprint resistant. The iPad’s display can support multiple languages simultaneously. The screen is for sure an highlight in the ipad.
Gaming and applications:
The iPad is not short of games compared to other portable gaming devices, there are lots of games available for the iPad.And even the gaming experience is very good because of the 9.7 inch widescreen. There is no need for joystick or other controls, thanks to the accelorometer.
There are a lot applications available at the App Store for almost everything. The iPad has thousands of apps for it and still adding. There are useful apps like weather apps, apps for entertainment and productivity apps for ease of work. The Map App is great for avid travelers!
Watching videos and photos:
Watching videos on the iPad is not that great. While the iPad supports the videos on YouTube with the in-built Youtube app.It is possible to synchronize videos from the iStore with the built-in app.If you want there also many video streaming apps for the iPad.
Browsing the web:
Browsing on the web with the Apple iPad is a very good experience for user of with any preferences.Viewing the web pages was very nice as the screen is wide and the display is clear. When you press on the Safari icon you are connected to the internet very quickly. The iPad is great for checking e-mails.
The iPad does not support the Adobe flash which is not a big problem. The lack of Adobe Flash is also not that notable as very few sites were not accessible. The iPad may not be the best device for web surfing but it definitely is the best portable gadget for browsing through the web.
Note:-Stay tuned to read the second part of the review!

Facebook, a stolen idea...?

There more  than 1800 million internet users world wide. And approximately 500 million people have an account in facebook. This if considered as a country will be the third largest country in terms of population next to China and India. As a matter of fact, many teenagers use their gadgets like computers, laptops, mobile phones for the sole purpose of social networking especially Facebook.
Social networking sites started as early as 1995.But the real craze
started with the invention of Facebook in 2004(February).Mark Zuckerberg is the founder of this highly popular site.
But why am I saying all this now? It’s because recently Divya Narendra,an Indian immigrant settled in U.S has filed a case on Mark Zuckerberg in a court alleging that Mark stole the idea of Facebook from him and his classmates-Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss(twins) which they designed while they were studying in Harvard University.Narendra explained that they asked Mark Zuckerberg’s help to develop Connectu but Mark stealed the idea and started Facebook.

Divya Narendra Said:“I spent almost one year developing the concept and searching for programmers along with two of my classmates to build what was then called Harvard-Connection.com, which was a social network for Harvard students which was to expand to other schools. When I heard about Mark Zuckerberg for the first time in the fall of 2003, he seemed like a natural fit to join our team. Three months later, Facebook launched and all the time and effort I had put into my vision had been taken away’

“The Social Network,a film released on October 1st,2010 created buzz that Facebook is a stolen concept by Mark Zuckerberg.”
The initial settlement was said to be around $65 million but the case was re-opened in May,2010.If the jury’s decision goes in favour of Narendra and his two classmates the settlement might be $465 million.
This entire episode has become a nightmare for Facebook.Facebook denied to comment on these allegations.Let us who wins this legal battle!

Price

$400

Design:
Toshiba designed this Mini NB305 innovatively carrying the confidence from it’s previous model Toshiba Mini NB205.The Toshiba Mini NB305 has tough construction unsurprisingly,we know that Toshiba is know for that. This compact netbook is designed sleekly and stylishly. The compact design make’s it fit easily in a grocery bag.Like many netbooks, the Mini NB305 does not look like a cheap plastic toy.It looks professional.
Display:
The display of Toshiba Mini NB305 is glossy. The resolution is just par(1024 x 600 pixels). The screen size is also somewhat small unlike the other netbooks with a 11.6” screens.Watching High Definition videos on the Toshiba NB305 was not a good experience but playing ordinary videos was comfortable. There is a integrated web camera on the lid.
Keyboard and touchpad:
The NB305-410’s chiclet keyboard is very likeable and odd compared to other netbooks’ keyboard and the NB305-310’s keyboard doesn’t boast a chiclet style but it is comfortable and normal. The keys are soft and easy to hit.
The over-sized touchpad is a main attraction in this Toshiba NB305.The touchpad is sensitive and features a left and right mouse buttons below it.
Performance:
The Toshiba NB305 offers a standard performance with the Intel Atom Processor. The 6 cell Lithium battery worked fine and gave a good run time of nearly 10 hours on the XP and 9 hours on the higher version Mini(Windows 7).The battery did not get heated like that of the Lenovo Ideapad U160’s battery.Toshiba did justice to the Mini NB305’s price.
