. This high-end device comes with advanced multimedia features with a 5mp camera. Its music player and good gaming makes it
a standout phone than the rest of all other smartphones out there in the market these days, especially the nokia N95 and nokia N96.
Nokia N85 is a slider phone which overtakes its competitors in some aspects. The phone doesn't not come with as much memory as the n96 or n95 but it offers almost the same features with a lesser price.
Design:
The Nokia N85 has been designed by the experts in such a way that it can be called as the smaller version of its elder brother,n96.It has a 2.6 inch OLED display screen(brighter than the LCD screen) which can support 16.7 million colours but it is difficult to view the screen under the sunlight. The disappointment was with its keypad, the dialpad was pretty easy to use but the keys on the face could have been designed better especially the Navigation buttons.
The lock, camera, volume buttons along with the speakers are placed on th right side of the piece while the left side boasts of a MicroSD slot which can have upto 8GB cards.and at the top is a headphone jack, power button and a USB port. All in all,the phone has a solid design.
Camera:

The Nokia N85 has a 5mp camera with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens which is pretty impressive with the autofocus feature. The user interface of the camera is easy to use and customize. Not to mention,it has 20x digital zoom.Comig to the recording of videos, the camera capturs videos in MPEG-4 format with VGA resolution at 30 frames per second, nice isn’t it?You can even change the colour effects. There is cover for the camera lens.
Multimedia:
The media player of this solid nseries phone supports MP3,WMA,AAC,eACC and eACC+ formats. It has a FM radio and an in-built equalizer. The sound quality of the phone impressed me.After you purchase the Nokia n85,you will be given an activation code with which you can download the full version of one game for free. After that you can download the trial version of games before paying for the full version. It’s multimedia capabilities are awesome.Calls and messages:
The sound quality of the phone during calls was clear and clean but it would have been even nice if it was a bit louder..The Nokia PC Suite allows us to sync the contacts.Battery life was also reliable and the standby time was impressive.
Nokia N85 can send text and also MMS(multi media service). But,it was difficult to type the messages with the keypad,as I pointed out earlier.Browsing and navigation:
Nokia N85 comes with one of the best web browser available in the market for phones. It was easy to scroll through and navigate the pages on the web.It would be better to bookmark sites as it was not all that easy to type.If you want to browse faster you can make use of Wi-Fi.
This smartphone comes with GPS(Global Positioning System) so that we don’t have to worry if we’re lost.Voice guided navigation is included for a 3 month trial. We all know about Nokia’s navigation, which can be used on our trips to find local places.
Performance:
The Nokia N85 was not as fast as its predecessor, the Nokia N79.It has a 1200 mAh lithium battery with upto 2 weeks of standby time on a single recharge. The performance of the phone was bad when I tried to view the photos else it had no problem of hanging. The performance of the phone was pretty satisfactory.
